Masterplan is the name of at least two bands. In order of appearance, they are:

(1) In the 1970s, a soul combo called Masterplan recorded “Clinton Park” and other tunes on the De-Lite label.

(2) More recently, Masterplan, a German Power Metal band, was founded by Uli Kusch and Roland Grapow after leaving Helloween.

Jorn Lande (ex- Ark and Beyond Twilight) was the vocalist until May 2006, due to a dispute between him and Roland and Uli, as he wanted to make the third album more melodic, whereas Roland and Uli wanted to make it more heavy like the self-titled debut. On 5th October 2006, Uli Kusch announced his departure from the band, and was replaced by Mike Terrana. Mike DiMeo (ex- Riot) was Masterplan’s vocalist for their album, MKII.

Jorn Lande has now rejoined Masterplan after years of outrage from fans.

The band has released four albums: Masterplan (2003), Aeronautics (2005), MK II (2007) and Time to be King (2010), as well as four EPs, Enlighten Me (2002), Back For My Life (2004), Lost And Gone (2007) and Far From The End Of The World (2010).

What a voice in this dude. I'm not really into melodic/power metal, but this band is just... wow...

Jorn Lande is easily one of the paramount voices of metal.

Since Roland said that they had already somewhat around 15 new songs I guess the line-up is still the same, he won't be writing so many if he has no singer.

Well, per this press release: http://frontiers.it/news/10552/ Jorn states: "When we wrote "Time To Be King" I heard a different and more rock oriented arrangement in my mind, so after the Masterplan album was released I couldn't stop thinking about how it would sound if it was recorded with this other arrangement. I don't know which one's better, I have ended up liking both versions." So it would seem Jorn just couldn't help himself with this one. Also, Masterplan's website still has him featured in the banner and band biography... so who knows. I just wish they would fess up already. We deserve to know!

Is Jorn still with Masterplan? Cause i saw that there's a new album from him in june and there's "Time To Be King" on it. To date, when Jorn cover a song from a band he played with, that's because he's no longer on this band (Where The Winds Blow from Ark and Hellfire from Beyond Twilight).

Are we to assume Jorn will be the singer on the new album? I can only hope...
