Master & Dog ( Formerly John, Shelly & the Creatures) formed after a chance meeting they had in a bar in Berlin with two homeless Irish twins named ‘John and Shelly’…it’s a really good story so ask the lads about it sometime….

Master & Dog and are made up of band members:

Kevin Carlisle (Drums, percussion & vox),

Philip Watts d’Alton (guitar, vox, keys, bass, mandolin),

Ger Gormley (bass, guitar, mandolin, vox),

and Walter (D’Goon) (guitar, vox, keys, programming and drums).

The Belfast foursome are influenced by a wide variety of genres and are unafraid to mix things up when it comes to recording and playing live. Their debut album is a defiant multi faceted musical prism of sound, tone and texture and has received critical acclaim this year from Radio, Tv, Press & Online critics.

Earlier this year the Northern Irish Tourist Board launched a phase of TV adverts that featured the band’s debut single: Long May You Reign as the title music on the advert. From statistics, the Advert has been the most successful Tv advert they have had on the NITB, so the band were asked to go back into the studio in September 2010 to record a new version of the song, for a more laid back Autumn/Winter season. Injecting vital fuel into the Master & Dog machine, the success of the single (which was picked for the ad over Greenday!) has buoyed the band, not only heightening their profile across the island, but allowing them to fulfill a packed touring schedule over the last year.
