When I was but a young man I was wild and full of fire
A youth within my teens, but full of challenge and desire
I ran away from home and left my mother and my dad
I know it grieved them so to think their only boy was bad

Marty Robbins one of the purest and best voices - along with awesome topics/subjects - Country Music has ever had! Among many, many great voices - Eddie Arnold, Hank Williams Jr., Earl Thomas Conley, Mel Tillis, Eddie Rabbit, Johnny Cash, Jim Reeves, etc, etc. (just focused here on the men folk...not enough time/space to cover the Female vocalists...)

He was as a god among mortals. Two slices of his cheesecake would be like a year in San Berdoo or a weekend in El Cerrito.
