In songs and legends they will tell the tales of me and you

What is your favorite album by 2?
Fumbling Towards Ecstasy
What is your favorite lyric that 1 has sung?
Wow. The one I have the most fun singing is definitely, "In my peach party dress, no one cared to tell me where the pretty girls are, those demigods with their nine inch nails and little fascist panties tucked inside the heart of every nice girl" from Precious Things. (Actually, it's what I'm listening to right now.)
6 Nov 2006, 08:25 by sunkeneyedgirlOkay, so I've decided that I've done all the games that are out there for your top 10 artists or whatever, so I'm making my own.
For each artist in your top 10 artists, name
- your favorite song
- your favorite album
- your favorite lyrics
- how you got started listening to them
- last played
I think that's enough to do for one game. Let's get this started!
1.) Tori Amos
Favorite song: Your Cloud
Favorite album: Scarlet's Walk
Favorite lyrics: to sing along to - "those demigods, with their nine inch nails and little fascist panties stuffed inside the heart of every nice girl" from Precious Things. overall - "if there is a horizontal line that runs from the map off your body, will that horizontal line when asked know how to find where you end and where I begin" - from Your Cloud
How I started listening: I had heard Silent All These Years on the radio back in the day (95 or 96, I'm guessing), and I bought Little Earthquakes sometime when I was in middle school. I've loved her ever since.
6 Oct 2006, 07:03 by sunkeneyedgirlYeah, I did this one before, but my top 10 have changed, so I wanted to do it again.
Name your top 10 most played bands on Last.fm:
1. Tori Amos
2. Mike Doughty
3. Sarah McLachlan
4. Bryan White
5. Soul Coughing
6. Tom Waits
7. Marty Casey & Lovehammers
8. Depeche Mode
9. Mark Snow
Now answer the questions according to the numbers:
1. What was the first song you ever heard by #6?
Small Change in my AP English class in high school. I had an awesome teacher!
2. What is your favorite album by #2?
3. What is your favorite lyric that #5 has sung?
either "The 5% nation of nipple clamps" from Casiotone Nation or "Some way or another, we are all going to Recida, to die, and the radio man laughs because the radio man fucks a model, too" from Screenwriter's Blues
4. How many times have you seen #4 live?
Just once, but I met him and have his autograph and two pictures with him! It was worth standing in line for an hour and a half.
4 Oct 2006, 08:02 by sunkeneyedgirlYeah, I decided I was bored and didn't know what else to do, so why not talk about my top 10 artists for this past week?
1. Tori Amos [54 plays]
- This doesn't surprise me a whole lot. There were a few days when I just sat and wrote and skipped a lot of what's on my media player, and I definitely have the most music of Tori's on my player, so...It's going to be a lot worse this week. I have over 200 tracks by her on my media player. Yeah. Insane.
2. Sarah McLachlan [39 plays]
- It's been awhile since Sarah's been this high on my list, so that's something different. A lot of those plays probably came from me skipping everything except faves for however many days I did that.
3. Mike Doughty [22 plays]
- Yes, I bought Skittish/Rockity Roll last week, and I've been playing those tracks almost non-stop now, plus someone awesome sent me a bunch of live tracks, too, so I may end up with more plays than last week.
4. Soul Coughing [18 plays]
31 Aug 2006, 01:38 by sunkeneyedgirlSo, redoing this to see if my numbers have changed. That and I did it with Radiohead before and this is RHCP.
Go through your top 10 artists and add up the total number of listeners. Divide the average by the number of Red Hot Chili Peppers fans (Red Hot Chili Peppers is - at the moment - the artist with the most listeners - Radiohead is second). That is your "mainstream percentage".
1. Tori Amos: 109,295
2. Bryan White: 849
3. Mike Doughty: 14,506
4. Sarah McLachlan: 98,402
5. Soul Coughing: 25,775
6. Marty Casey & Lovehammers: 1,009
7. Mark Snow: 2,653
8. Stevie Ray Vaughan: 31,988
9. Lovehammers: 526
10. Radiohead: 352,048
divided by 10: 63,705.1
divided by RHCP: 341,312
mainstream percentage: 19%
WOW, I really don't listen to very widely listened-to artists, do I? I think Lovehammers & Bryan White totally did that one in. Can you imagine if my #11 artist had been in the place of Radiohead? That's Lo-Ball, and they have 171 listeners.
22 Apr 2006, 08:39 by S9DallasOzGuess I'll start with my top 10 favorite new tracks of this year. It's still an incredibly early and I'm sure this entire list will be different even after next week.
1. Thriving Ivory - "Angels On The Moon"
I was turned on to this band by the radio of all things. Live 105 here in San Francisco put a local unsigned band on their playlist and this song is just epic. Piano/rock similar to Augustana and The Fray. These guys are destined for Great things and their debut album will be put out within the next few weeks.
2. Sanctus Real - "I'm Not Alright"
Love on first listen. The best song I've heard from this group. Unfortunately, the rest of the album never touches this track, but it alone is worth picking up "The Face of Love" which came out April 4th. These guys are one of the biggest artists on the christian rock scene although I couldn't even tell the music was christian (as is the way it is with all christian artists I like). …
21 Feb 2006, 02:03 by S9DallasOzMarty Casey & Lovehammers - (36 Plays):
I got the album from this band this week...I had never watched Rockstar so I was not aware that Marty casey had been on the show. This album opens up with its best track "Casualty", co-written by former SR-71 Singer Mitch Allan and continues on with similar sounding tracks. The best being the first single "Trees", "Clinic", & "Call of Distress". A solid, straight-ahead rock release in the same vein as Closure, Hinder, & Default.
2. Family Force 5 - (31 Plays):
Once again making it into My top 10. Family Force 5 released their Debut "Business Up Front/Party In the Back" on iTunes this week, so i was able to get the single "Replace Me" which i listened a number of times this week. These boys know how to keep it Phunque.
