Cincinnati-based producer songwriter known only as Martin Luger King, Jr. (alternatively Martin Luger), an artist on the Whatev Bev Records label and a member of the Whatev Bev Collective. He has claimed that all his music was produced with direct participation from alien beings, one of whom was revealed to Martin a s Martin Luther King, Jr., henceforth his adoption of the MLK persona.
Only using basic computer programs and minimal, eclectic samples Martin Luger makes strange, experimental hip hop beats, that are somewhere between Trap and Detroit house, with a freak-pop tinge. Along with artists such as Zola Swedenborg, Dadaco, and others he’s also helped develop a new genre of music aptly christened “nyumyujikku”, Japanese for “new music”.
