Mark Wills is so undervalued. He had such a strong impact on my childhood and his voice/lyrics are much better than half of the country artists on the top of the charts today.

I think there is some un-informed, but well- wishing Mark Wills fans here - I have EVERY album he has ever recorded. He is amazing. I am a HUGE music and HUGE country fan and he is one of the best ever. Wish you were here - was a great album, but not a debut album. Go back and listen to "Jacob's Ladder" - great song - well before "Wish you were here". He also - got better as albums went by. He has never had commercial mainstream success - but he has had great music. Every album has classics! Keep listening!

Actually Mark Wills debut was out in 1996 and Kenny Chesney's in 1994.

man mark wills had THE debut album of 1999 in "wish you were here" no less than 5 hits off of that one, including the title track & the lovely ballads "don't laugh at me," and "i do (cherish you)" which was covered by 98 degrees a year later. it never got as good for mark wills again, even though he covered brian mcknight's "back at one," & brandy's "almost doesn't count." he even sang the original of one of the decade's biggest country hits, "what hurts the most." never understand why talent like his doesn't spell amazing career. he could have just as well been kenny chesney, who also released a debut album in 1999. no'd do well to check out the entire wish you were here cd.
