A native of the Metropolitan New York Area, Mark Prigoff has been a keyboardist for over 52 years, self-taught on the piano, and having the ability to play just about anything he hears. Since the piano-playing position in his early school years was filled, Mark joined the orchestra as a percussionist and studied drums in additional to his piano studies. Today, he stresses the importance of good timing and knowing how to program drum parts within MIDI sequences is essential.

Mark continued with various instruments throughout high school and college, participated as a solo pianist in pop concerts, and drums and percussion with the school’s marching band. He also attended Interlochen, (The National Music Camp) in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After college, Mark performed in various NYC venues and with the jazz fusion group, High Tide.

In recent years, Mark has performed in the Yamaha National Electone Keyboard Festival, Senior Division, on the Yamaha HX-1 Electone Keyboard. He has taught piano and organ for over 20 years and has had several students also participate in the Yamaha National Electone Keyboard Festival in Buena Park, CA.

Today he works with various musicians, particularly in the New York and Long Island area with focus on digital media development, arranging and recording, and various computer applications. He is currently developing a Pop Piano Program that allows the digital keyboardist to learn and play along with virtual recordings and vocals in a variety of musical genres.
