Mark Mulcahy is an American musician and former front-man until 1996 for Miracle Legion. Since that band dissolved Mulcahy has released several solo albums, including: fathering, smilesunset, in pursuit of your happiness, and the EP Love’s the Only Thing That Shuts Me Up.

As lead singer in the band Miracle Legion, Mulcahy toured the world and appeared on MTV and Late Night with David Letterman. After their demise, Mulcahy composed the music for the Nickelodeon television series The Adventures of Pete and Pete , performing with the fictional TV band Polaris, a group comprised of three-fourths of the Miracle Legion lineup. In March 2006 he performed “Don’t Talk Crazy” with Michael Stipe at the “Bring ‘Em Home Now” concert in New York City. Mark collaborated with writer/artist Ben Katchor on two musicals, The Rosenbach Company and The Slug Bearers of Kayrol Island, or, The Friends of Dr. Rushower.

In 2013 he released his first full-length album in eight years, Dear Mark J. Mulcahy, I Love You.

reminds me so much of nilsson, but in an irrepressibly unique way. what a lyrical genius, with a truly comforting voice.

And so today is the anniversary of the death of a man I loved dearly. It is the 15th of December. His name was Tyler Hawkins. He took his life in 2006. Mulachy, you truly were an inspiration to the both of us (and still are). Every song, every lyric, every word... truth and beauty is always present in your reflections of life and experience.. Bless you.

Ciao My Shining Star is so good. It's awesome to see all these artists come together to help the guy out in his time of need.

StalinSays: have you listened to smilesunset or in pursuit of your happiness all the way through? quite a few upbeat punchy tracks on both those albums. ie 'not in Charleston' , ' propstar', 'i have patience', 'the come on'.

I've always enjoyed Polaris, but hadn't moved on from it to Miracle Legion or any of Mark's solo stuff until now. I enjoy it all thoroughly. Is there anything from either ML or MM that's comparable to Hey Sandy or Saturnine? IE upbeat and punchy? The sampling I've heard, while great, is all pretty slow.

<--- way envious. i'm not sure the opportunity will ever arise to see him in the midwest seeing as he tours so little. someday i might consider just traveling out to one of his future gigs, it would be worth it.

In 2005 - he was fantastic - didn't expect him, dont; know why, to be as good live as recorded but even better and the band on with him were great and obviously all having a great time playing - one of best gigs!
