Biography

Mark Bradshaw collaborated with Jane Campion as composer and musician on her two short films THE LADY BUG and THE WATER DIARY and most recently her feature film BRIGHT STAR. He has composed music for several other short films including THE MIRAGE, which he also produced. Mark has written for a wide variety of ensembles, including a cappella chorus, string quartet and string orchestra. He has quickly developed an original voice as a composer and performer through extensive touring with his string/electronic/voice ensemble, MARK BRADSHAW AND THE LIKE. He graduated from the College of Fine Arts in Sydney and completed his postgraduate study at the University of Sydney.

    I was disappointed to find actors reciting the movie lines over the music at first, but the more I listen to "Bright Star" now, the more this decision makes sense to me. The movie lines are as haunting as the music, it fits beautifully. Oh but the album is so short! And why was the song, which we can hear during the second part of the movie trailer, is not included in the album? Does anyone know if it is made my someone else? Please let me know.
