Born in the early fifties, in a working class district of Pointe-aux-Trembles, Marie-Claire Séguin lives his childhood surrounded by her two sisters and his twin brother. She learns very early to music. She has always had, not far from her piano and, in addition, we sing a lot in the family. The piano quickly became a part of herself that allows her to explore the world.

From 1967 to 1971, she sang with his twin brother Richard. There was, first of all, The New Frontier and The Seguin followed … With their beautiful voices, their percussive instruments, their unconventionality non-violent protest and confusing their minds, they became the leaders of a generation of Quebecers.
In 1975, Harvest of Dreams , their third album, is successful. It is indeed considered one of the great classics of Quebec song. The songs of harvest dreams unite, make you think and pacify the spirits. Who has not listened to loop the children of a century crazy ? A year later, the Séguin , however, give their last recital at the Theatre Outremont in Montreal and the Canadian Institute in Quebec City. Their career took a turn, the musical journey continues, but this time, one without the other …
In 1978, Marie Claire is launching an eponymous debut album and follows a show unanimously acclaimed by critics and the public. In the same year, she recorded a TV show with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Neil Chotem.
