Marie Tueje (pronounced 'ma ¦ ree tway ¦ jay') is a pop singer, songwriter and producer from London, England. Tueje is a Composition major from Sheffield University, in the north of England and plays bass, drums, flute, mandolin and guitar, keyboards and banjo.
Born in London, England and now living between that fair city and Barcleona, singer-songwriter Marie Tueje creates music for the heart and for the feet. Her first EP, In The Back Room is a mixture of soft-rock, pop and alternative styles that has earned her comparisons with the Smiths, Aimee Mann and the Aracde Fire. Her second EP, The Price Of Love demonstrates a more confidant and catchy assault on the senses, that builds on classic songwriting to conjure up fascinating aural sketches on life's loves and labours.
The six tracks of her debut EP, 'In The Back Room', showcase a stylistically pure alternative to modern pop songwriting that has gained favourable comparisons to Thea Gilmore, Kirsty MacColl and Aimee Mann.
Marie's second EP, The Price Of Love, is available from 20 October, 2009.
