Maria Sorte is a Mexican actress and singer. Born María Harfuch Hidalgo on 11 May 1951 in Camargo, Chihuahua, Mexico.

She appeared for the first time in the cinema in the movie Zona Roja in 1976.
After, she acted in 2 other movies: Los Triunfadores and No tiene la culpa el Indio in 1978. In 1979 she appeared in the TV with a little role in the telenovela Amor prohibido and in 2 films: Mexicano hasta las cachas and El fuego de mi ahijada.

In 1980, she acted Mirta in the telenovela Colorina with Lucia Mendez in leading role. Then, we could see her in the film El testamento (1981), telenovela Por amor (1982) and El barrendero (1982).

In 1984, she decided to sing and she released her first LP Esperame una noche with 10 songs, 2 in Italian. She was succesful and that`s because in 1985, the released another LP Yo quiero ser siempre tuya with song named Abandonada, which is the main theme of telenovela Abandonada where she acted Daniela, the main character.

Then, she acted in 3 films: El embustero (1985) with Vicente Fernandez, El hombre de la mandolina (1985), and El hijo del viento (1986) and she released other LP, Conquistame. The first hit song from it was Solo quiero contigo. She continued to sing and in 1988 she released LP Pensando en ti.

Maria received a price TV y novelas for the character of Daniela.Until the year 1992, she didn`t act in telenovelas. She acted in the film La jaula de la muerte (1990) and in program Mujer…casos de la vida real (1991), episode named No quiero que sufran.
