Trondheim, Norway (2004 – present)

Margaret Berger (born 11 October 1985 in Trondheim, Norway) is an singer and songwriter.

She grew up in Hitra, Norway. She studied music at Heimdal Videregående (High School). She entered Norwegian Idol in 2004, and became the underdog who barely survived week after week. At the end she ended up second. A little later, she got a record deal, and released her first album, “Chameleon”, late 2004. She had one big hit from this record (“Lifetime Guarantee”) and two minor radio hits (“Mind Game” and “This is Perfect”). She spent 2005 touring festivals and schools as a part in a huge cultural project for students and kids in Trondheim and writing songs for her new album.

In the summer of 2006 she returned with the song “Samantha”, which bacame a huge hit in Norway. The following single was “Will You Remember me Tomorrow”. Her second album “Pretty Scary Silver Fairy” was released October 2nd 2006 to great critical acclaim.

In February 2013, she ended up being the Norwegian representative for Eurovision Song Contest 2013, after wining the Melodi Grand Prix, the Norwegian pre-selection. Berger represented Norway in Malmö, Sweden, and finished at number four with the song I Feed You My Love.

    tbh this ESC was sh*t... not because of songs, but because of voting. the winner had been known before ESC started, and if you know geography well, you are able to know what countries get points from voting country.... (I think it's like that every year , but this year was too obviously)

    Of course I would have loved her to win, but a 4th place is still very good. I think her song is way better than Azerbaijan's mediocre 'Hold Me', but these things happen in Eurovision. I am still very proud of her reaching top 5 and I Feed You My Love is definitely one of the best songs that will be released in 2013. I hope her album will be released very soon for us all to enjoy!

    she came from space... her singing is cosmic, her perfomance was absolutely stunning, stylish and memorable. the song is nearly fantastic. llllove from the first listen. I wanted her to win, but at least she deserves the 2nd place, because the song of Azerbaijan was competely shit
