“Growing up in the former East Berlin, East Germany, a country with a short history of an existing utopia, Marcel Türkowsky is proposing a poetic semi-auto fiction by way of films, installations, objects, audioprojects and performances since the early ´00. His works are a series of stories with and across the arts reconsidering the world, using metaphysics to map out areas of characters, events, settings, landscapes and objectworlds. He borrows from history, music, cinema, theater and the carnivalesque to investigate the boundaries of altered states of reality and its perceptual and conceptual experience.
Reconsidering the spectator´s relationship and the different states of attention, requestioning methods of choreography, language and anthropology the spectrum of content (through visual, sound and narrative examinations) reflects on the various dimensions of the poetic act and revolt: to reunderstand miraculous elements of utopia that has become impossible to envisage within the historical process.”

Marcel Türkowsky `s music and sound works, often relate to his installations, stories, scenographies, settings - texts - codes or stage performances and usually present pieces over a long duration of time. Almost soundtracks, the sonic works aim to unfold questions on the musical act and experience as well as the relation to acoustic phenomena.
