does any one know what is he plays the music on the film "kids are all right "??? i heard it that's so touch and really want to know it. i searched it for so long time but didn't find out. please who can help me?? thank you so much!!!!
@MIlesBachman & @amnesiacphlgm
I've heard some some live recordings on which he plays the piece in a similar way and he always announced it as I'm confessing". rather than a tinge of arsenio, I'd say theres a lot of Django Reinhardt in his interpretation. ribot has performed his music in concert several times, so he's obviously familar with him.
@amnesiacphlgm: though i do hear some nods towards "i'm confessing" (especially on first clip) it also sounds a bit like an arsenio rodriguez composition. with ribot you have to let the familiar and unfamiliar ride over your mind like tidal waves. or something.
it actually IS "I'm confessing that I love you". the point is that Ribot is improvising on these tunes at lot in concerts and goes wherever his imagination is taking him. he practically reinvents them each time he play them. what you hear on cd is only one interpretation, and imho usually not the best oder most imginative.
so all of you ribot-fans, I've got a special question for you, I hope you can help me. who can figure out what song this is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dlp-drgd2Lg (from 1:44 to 2:40) and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TnBfCuPycyc (from 5:00 - at least I think it's the same song, check it out at 5:50). and I know the description says "I'm confessin' that i love you", but I listened to the track on saints and didn't recognize the part I'm looking for. any help would be really appreciated, thank you!
