According to the Some Kind Of Nothingness Songfacts, the song peaked at #44 on the UK singles chart, and was the first single from the band to not to make the Top 40 since they signed to Sony in 1991. Nicky Wire admitted to Absolute Radio: “I was quite distraught that ‘Some Kind of Nothingness’, our single, missed the Top 40. I was gutted.”

Gospel choir and Ian makes this song rock. Definitely one of their best from their "pop" side.

This song took off for me when they played it at their gig in Fremantle on Monday this week. Completely soars!

I hated this at first, but now I've come to love it. Ian McCulloch makes the song for me. His voice complements JDB's voice beautifully...and when Ian sings as a tenor, he even sounds like JDB.
