    I didn't enjoy Shakti...Mahavishnu Orchestra sounds to me like they have more purpose (usually)

    Yep, great with Shakti, although I do like that acoustic album My Goals Beyond, which I think was The Mahavishnu Orchestra. Don't like the electric stuff as much.

    This song was originally called "One Word" as it appeared on Tony Williams' Lifetime on Turn it Over (with Mclaughlin on gtr., Jack Bruce on bass and vocals, Larry Young, organ & of course Williams on drums). The main difference is that on that version, Jack Bruce was in the forefront singing mystical lyrics. So, for those who like this track, it might be interesting to check out the Lifetime version, "One Word." It's kind of odd that the title One Word is also used for a completely different track on Birds of Fire.
