About This Track

“Celebration” is a song by American singer-songwriter Madonna from her third greatest hits compilation, Celebration. It went to #1 on the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart in Autumn of 2009. The song was written and produced by Madonna, Paul Oakenfold, Ian Green, and Ciaran Gribbin. According to the Celebration Songfacts, Gibben, Green and Oakenfold arranged the backing track, worked out the chord structure, put the guitars, keyboards and drums to the track and Madonna wrote the lyrics and melody.

It was originally listed as “Celebrate” but was later officially announced as being named “Celebration” by Warner Bros.

A sample of the song made its debut on the 2009 leg of the Sticky & Sweet Tour during the performance of “Holiday”.
