Biography

Manwel T mixed his first dub tune on his personal computer in 2006. He calls himself a “digital dub remixer” because he mixes and remixes all his dub tracks digitally: on his PC. Influenced by dub pioneers like King Tubby and Lee Perry, and other dub masters like Scientist, Adrian Sherwood, Jah Shaka, Mad Professor, Alpha & Omega and Zion Train, he uses today’s technology to create dub works that sound vintage and innovative at the same time!

Born Manwel Tabone in Malta in 1960, he has been into reggae since the mid-70s. He presented the weekly Reggae Club show on Radio Malta between 1989 and 2005. In 1990 he published the first edition of the Reggae World fanzine which lasted four issues.

Artists that have been remixed by Manwel T include Alpha & Omega, Dubmatix, Urban Dub, General Smiley, Messian Dread, The Slackers, Zion Train, Coldcut, Public Enemy, Daddy Rings and John Brown’s Body.
