For me this is a short story of a sick and schizophrenic women and her daughter. This mother was stopped by a police car but she thought it's a monster (in the end she is crazy), so she ran away by car. Police was chasing her, she crashed into tree and her daughter died. During this monologue she (covered in blood) is holding her daughter's body and pretends that she is alive. Thats my interpretation.
