I feel very ambivalent about this album. "Intro" is OK, "Midnight City" is amazing but the it gets somewhat boring, and it's difficult to get into it even after multiple listens. There also seems to be too many layers in some parts.

This is a pretty weird album - it's getting attention for the more chart-friendly "Midnight city", but it's got a lot of tracks that are very true to the older, more melancholic and shoe-gaze M83. Songs like "Echoes of mine" and "This bright flash" are devastating and could easily have come off "Dead cities".
