Edmonton, North London (2007 – 2012)

Mörkbürgër were a three piece band formed in Edmonton, North London in 2007 or something by two friends who studied together at the same school. Their music originally consisted of tape effects and other such activities. They then moved to experimenting with styles such as Nu Metal, Hard Rock and Alternative, along with various fusion genres. They used an interesting variety of instruments, from the usual guitars and drums, to the less usual mandolin, penny whistle, scottish smallpipes and clarinet. And violin. Don’t forget the violin.

Their lineup underwent a number of changes over the years, with no fewer than four members resigning, not turning up or simply disappearing. When they disbanded in 2012, Mörkbürgër consisted of two guitarists and a computer.

Mörkbürgër’s influences included Metallica, Rammstein, Megadeth, Overkill, Gong and Yes.

The Cold Dark and Dark The Cold have since begun work on a new folk metal project, as yet unnamed, which takes inspiration from folk music throughout the British Isles.
