Luxembourg were a British five-piece indie band. For most of their life, the lineup consisted of David Shah (lead singer), Rob Britton (guitar), Alex Potterill (keyboards), Jon Bacon (bass) and Steve Brummell (drums). Bassist Jon left the band at the end of 2006 and was replaced by David Barnett. Luxembourg were most often compared to artists like Pulp, The Smiths and Roxy Music and sometimes described as “pop noir”.

For post-Luxembourg activity, check the following:

The Melting Ice Caps
The Soft Close-Ups
Jonny Cola & The A-Grades
The New Royal Family
Rob Britton

Luxembourg is also a dark ambient/dark electro trio (Sarah O’Connell, Matthew Chaplin and Victor Braguine) from Sydney, Australia.

I was in a band who supported these back in 2002-ish, never knew they got signed but they were very good. Nice guys too. Helped them set up sound if I remember at Bull & Gate and gave me an EP with Making Progress, Reason For Losing Sleep and Raised on it. Still listen to it.

Hey, boys. Is the website down for good? Is there any other way to access the lyrics pages? I've been feeling super nostalgic lately.

I love Luxembourg too. I was born there. Ahahaha... ha... ha? I also love leaving bad puns on band pages. (I was born there for real, though)

It doesn't make sense. They shouldn't have quit, they should have kept on going!

Thanks :), I'll have a look for them. And I would be happy to buy it too. Actually, I found out about the split when I set out to buy Front.

hey, vigimael, just check out "the melting ice caps" (David's new band) and "Jonny cola & the a-grades" (Alex' new band). Rob has a too. All very good and makes the loss of luxembourg a bit easier. I agree, it's nice of the boys to "give" us their (awesome) music for free, even though I would've been happy to buy it.

It's really nice of Luxembourg to put all their music for free now. Thanks, boys :) I hope I hear more from you musically soon.

I'm really sad that you split. You'll always be one of my all-time favourite bands (there are only a few). Your album would have been/is fantastic. I will miss you very much. Good luck for the future. xx

Wow, lots of full track streams despite low plays. That's brilliant as I can never find any real-life Luxembourg.
