You can’t be what you’ve always dreamed of being until you can’t imagine being anything else in this life. You get one shot and you had better take it. With caution to the wind and hearts exposed to the open air, Lux Courageous is the next step in the evolution of everything genuine about music.

When Lux was formed in 2001, PJ Tepe and Adam Loporto had good reason to come together and do something productive with their frustrations, considering the state of the world and music that specific year. Having no serious musical aspirations at first, PJ and Adam came together to just do what was natural and have a good time. After months and months of writing and home recording, it was decided that maybe Lux start playing some shows. It was then that this “thing” was named Lux Courageous.

After some time of showing up to Long Island hardcore shows with nothing more than acoustic guitars, it was decided that there was still another step to be taken in the evolution of Lux. With the addition of Chris Valentino and Jani Zubkovs, the music started taking on a more aggressive sound but still staying true to the acoustic guitar sound that started everything in the first place. Playing shows on Long Island quickly turned into playing shows all over the tri-state area.

With an independently released EP in hand, Lux started getting the right kind of attention as well as a phone call from Triple Crown Records in late 2003. Adding the piano expertise of Justin Williams and signing to Triple Crown within a month of each other had finally put Lux where, they feel, the powers that be had always intended them to be.

this band deserved to be a LOT bigger than they were when they broke up....."Reasons to Keep the Ground Near" is one of my favorite albums of all time.....this is one band that I initially wrote off that I wish I hadn't, 1st time I heard their album I said "this is generic and they're bad" but then I had "This Town" stuck in my head one day like 5 months later and absolutely fell in love with the CD, definitely glad I did
