United Kingdom (1980 – present)

Lustmord (b. Brian Williams), is an English dark ambient/industrial musician, born in the United Kingdom but currently based in Los Angeles, California, USA. Williams started recording as Lustmord in 1980 before briefly joining SPK in 1982. He uses ultra-low frequencies - infrasound (i.e. below 20Hz, known to cause feelings of awe or fear). Lustmord has extracted field recordings (made in crypts, caves, and slaughterhouses), occasionally combined these with ritual incantations, Tibetan horns, and other acoustic phenomena treatments - often encased in expanded bass rumbles.

Lustmord’s latest release is [album artist=Lustmord]Heretic[/album (2010). This quickly followed [ B E Y O N D ] (2009), also known as [Beyond]), the second and final part of extended ambient remix collection, from the [ O T H E R ] (2008), also known as [Other]).

Some of Lustmord’s notable album collaborations include Stalker (with Robert Rich) & Pigs of the Roman Empire (with experimental sludge group Melvins).

Lustmord has produced “Schism (Lustmord Remix)” and “Parabola (Lustmord remix)” (both fromTool’s Lateralus album (2005). He subsequently contributed to Tool’s 10,000 Days album (2006), and more recently collaborated on Maynard James Keenan’s “Puscifer” project.
