Biography

Luigi Ionescu (b.3 April 1927,Pânceştim Bacău - d.1989, Bucharest) was a Romanian singer. He started singing at an early age(High school) in Bacău.
Beginning with 1946 he started participating in all sorts of youth activities . In 1951 he got hired by the state theater and continues his activities until 1987 when he retires.
He is best known for one of his songs “Lalele” witch was written by “Temistocle Popa” a famous national composer and an actor .
He died in 1989 in Bucharest.
