Biography

Luca Turilli is Rhapsody of Fire’s (formerly Rhapsody) guitarist and composer.

Turilli was born in Trieste, Venezia Giulia. Due to the influence of his father, he became interested in classical music and learned to play piano and guitar. In 1993 he founded the band Thundercross, which was renamed Rhapsody after releasing the first demo, and renamed once again to Rhapsody of Fire for copyright reasons in 2006.

In interviews, he has said that Manowar, Blind Guardian, Helloween, and Crimson Glory are influences on him and the rest of Rhapsody Of Fire.

He is one of the founders of the band Rhapsody of Fire. He also worked on a trilogy of solo albums as Luca Turilli. He has now formed a second side band, named Luca Turilli’s Dreamquest, alongside Dominique Leurquin, which released its first album, Lost Horizons, in the summer of 2006.

Luca Turilli created his own power metal band in 1999. 3 Full-length albums have been released since: “King of the Nordic Twilight”, the very cosmic-electronic-power metal oriented “Prophet of the Last Eclipse” in 2002 and “The Infinite Wonders of Creation” in 2006. Vocals performed by Olaf Hayer and in Infinite Wonders of Creation by Bridget Fogle (Dionysus).

Prophet of the Last Eclipse is his best album. It's immersive with such creative electro and cinematic arrangements. Almost sounds like a Tim Burton movie... it would be a dream come true if Luca ever releases another album like this (or even just a record that's ambient-inspired since he proved he can do that very well, but the last works are too pompous and lack subtlety.)

The sword and the shield, the power of the steel, to win the mask of heeelll! Seriously, were these lyrics lifted out of Majora's Mask or something?

ANY music artist, that doesn't offer at least a couple streamable tracks, is out of touch with their fan base : ( What if I live in a country with heavy restrictions and only have access to a globally licensed music site, such as LastFM? I cannot access iTunes or Amazon or Spotify. Only have Lastfm! Where are my samples? Where is the show of appreciation? Where is the humility from the band? As a music publicist, I can safely say, " hiding ALL of your tracks is NOT a great way to communicate to fans!
