Biography

Trieste, Italy (2011 – present)

Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody is the name of the new band of the Italian composer Luca Turilli due to the friendly split between Luca Turilli and Alex Staropoli (main composers of the bands Rhapsody and Rhapsody of Fire).

The addition of Luca’s name before Rhapsody is due to the same legal reasons of the past not allowing him to use the word Rhapsody alone.

The first album Ascending To Infinity would be released in late june 2012.

Discography:
- Ascending To Infinity (2012)

Line up:
- Luca Turilli (guitars and keyboards)

- Dominique Leurquin (guitars)

- Alessandro Conti (vocals)
- Alex Landenburg (drums)

Former members:
- Alex Holzwarth (drums)

Formed in August 2011 in Trieste, Italy.

Long Biography (from the band’s page):

LUCA TURILLI is the Italian guitar player and composer who in 1993, together with the keyboard player ALEX STAROPOLI, founded the symphonic metal band RHAPSODY. The band released their first album, LEGENDARY TALES, in 1997 and quickly followed with their sophomore release, SYMPHONY OF ENCHANTED LANDS one year later, both reaching high chart positions and establishing what became called “Hollywood Metal” at first and then some years later becoming known as “Film Score metal.” Both genres were clearly describing a new style of music based on the connection between the most epic and glorious power/speed metal of the late ‘80s with Luca and Alex’s infinite passion for the cinema and the world of soundtracks.

What about Fantasia Gotica? Seems everyone forgot about it, yet I have an unpleasant feeling of being scammed here, if the song actually exists. Free download in September 2012, huh? ¬_¬ [2]

Luca Turilli's Rhapsody is great...but I liked Luca Turilli's Dreamquest better.

I still can't get over the bass mastery on this album.

I like my power metal how I like my burgers; cheesy and full of meat. This album is a very tasty burger.

Yes, it's as pompous and pompous can get, once again, so that is become pretty bad. A usual case in Turilli's music in the recent years. But damn can Alle Conti sing! Imagine if you and your band had a singer like that on your disposal!

I do believe that the almighty Mr. Joey DeMaio is right person who could give Luca a nice single knock up his ass and make him make good music again.

I think it's very good. Too much trying to impress at times indeed but still one of the best albums of the year :P

Its over the cheese. So epic it's a fail, or the other way round.

So friggin' over-the-top even Wagner and Orff teaming up together couldn't hold a candle to it in terms of pompousness.

The only record from any Rhapsody ever I've bothered to be interested in since Symphony of Enchanted Lands II, and solely because Alle's incredible young Kiske-like vocals! ^-^\,,/

Somebody wrote in Rhapsody's shoutbox that all of the names should be merged. I say no, the pages should stay separated because they show different bands. Everything released up to the name change is credited to Rhapsody, while everything released after the name change is credited to Rhapsody of Fire. Those are, technically, different bands. It's the same story with Luca Turilli's Rhapsody.

Luca Turilli is a very respectable musician. He absolutely delivered. I'm already looking forward to new stuff from this, his project. The choir of Excalibur is absolutely fantastic. Best song in the album, IMO.
