Biography

Lovage is a project headed by Dan The Automator under his alias “Nathaniel Merriweather” (a persona he created for the project Handsome Boy Modeling School). The album is called Music To Make Love To Your Old Lady By, a collaboration with Mike Patton and Jennifer Charles of Elysian Fields, who both provide vocals. Kid Koala plays turntables and samples.

In an interview with MTV in 2006, Patton claimed that he and Dan the Automator are planning a follow up album but are unsure of Charles’ involvement.

“The Lovage music is done for the most part but we’re just waiting for Mike and Jennifer to get together and write again,” Kid Koala stated in an interview from 2010.

    Thank you buddy, what a charming fellow you are.. It has nothing to do with me wanting über complexity. It just lacks soul and purpose. And it does sound EXACTLY the same all the way through, how can that not be fucking frustrating talking about any genre of music?..Which leads me to the fact that people have a hard time thinking for themselves when there are big names involved in a project like this.

    No this really sucks..The exact same tempo all the way through wih no variation, and the pain goes on for almost an hour. I really hate this project, and Yes Jennifer Charles should not be singing.. At all. She does the sexy / horney vixen voice well, but it gets tired really quick, because that is honestly all she's got... I know i keep coming back to slam this, but i have never felt actually hate towards a certain piece of music, as i have experienced listening to this. I love Patton, that is the only positive thing to say. But even him are painfully predictable here
