    This album was a pleasant surprise for me, because i haven't heard anything of or about Louis Glass before. His music reminds me of the chamber works of Brahms and maybe Tchaikowsky, but Glass has clearly a quite personal musical language.
    Especially interesting to me is the delving into the "intense", and also more "dark" areas of emotions in his music. He does sometimes shy away from delving too deep into that. I'm also missing sometimes some real communication/conversation between the instruments. But the way he seems to find a "dark" side in the light, and vice versa, is quite marvelous imho, and reminds me of the way sometimes Mozart is able to change attitudes and emotions within two bars. No, Glass is no new Mozart for me, but he has a certain quality there in constructing comprehensible musical experiences out of seemingly disparate emotional states.
