There is more than one band with the name “Lotion”.

The band “Lotion” responsible for many other recorded tracks on the albums The Agnew Funeral, Nobody’s Cool, The Telephone Album, Tear and Full Isaac, is a 1990’s band from NYC who had success in the UK, signed to Spin-Art. Their sound is said to be similar to R.E.M. Through a personal connection, the band met novelist Thomas Pynchon, who wrote the liner notes to their album “Nobody’s Cool.”

The band “Lotion” responsible for the tracks The Book Group, Pandora’s Closet, Loathing, Exuro Terra, Undetermined, Beaufort Scale and Inside is an act from Northern Ireland currently signed to Tolerance.
The first four tracks listed above are from their new release Voodoo Priestesses and Interplanetary Craft, while the last three tracks appear on the EP Inside which can be downloaded or streamed in full from at This band’s music is a heavy alt rock, with electronic and sampled aspects.

A third band called lotion is a self described “Porn Groove” from Christchurch, New Zealand. They play a jazz/funk type of music and have released no actual music so far but have some live recordings floating around
