Los Abandoned was an American alternative rock band. The name is in “Spanglish” since the word “Los” is Spanish for “The”. They are popular in the Los Angeles area. They may also be considered a Latin rock or Rock en español band, since much of their lyrics, song titles, hooks, and choruses are in Spanish or bilingual in English.

The lead singer is a Chilean-American girl. Their biggest hits so far are: Panic-oh, Van Nuys is Very Nice, and Stalk U. They have released two EP’s and one LP. The official fansite greets you with this jingle, We are Los Abandoned, No Nos Abandones, En Inglés Or Spanish, It Is Nice To Meet You (FULL ENGLISH: We are Los Abandoned, Don’t abandon us, In English or Spanish, It is nice to meet you). They were however let go by maverick and now are signed to Vapor Records.

The band has performed with legends such as Café Tacuba, The Breeders, Caléxico, Julieta Venegas, Molotov and also Aterciopelados. The participated in the South-by-South-West festival, in Austin Texas in 2004 and 2006 and also in the Latin Alternative Music Conferance on the Santa Monica pier in 2005 alongside Ely Guerra and Andrea Echeverri. Furthermore they opened the Bridge School Benefit for Paul McCartney, Neil Young, and the legendary Red Hot Chili Peppers.

They have a fast growing fanbase as can de demonstated by their availability and increased downloads on AllOfMP3.com and LimeWire and other file sharing P2P networks.

They announced their split during summer 2007.
