I am really sorry for the disrespect other people from my country have shown towards our neighbours and their decision to call the city Istanbul - a name that actually denotes how our cultures have affected each other :)! Constantinapole, Istanbul, it doesn't matter. They're the same city. Constantinapole is what the city was called just a small hundred years ago. Istanbul is the modern name of the city, both are beautiful and it really doesn't matter. Beautiful song. [2]

Nobody can say that the name of Istanbul is constantinapole! Because We indicated its name as İSTANBUL. You are not living in Turkey. So you can not say anything about it. In our language your capital is Atina. But we cannot say you to say it as Atina. What you say for your country is correct; but not for our country!

I've been a Loreena McKennitt fan since '94. She puts on a really great concert.

Istanbul, Constantinopole, both names have been there for a long, long time in history and both names mean something to the country itself and the sourounding ones who have been involved in history with the city. Anyway, musical piece is great whatever name you use for the song, dont you agree?

Really, you just need to listen to They Might Be Giants' cover of "Istanbul (Not Constantinople). ;)
