Lord of the Strings is a three piece, wizard rock band based out of Panama City Beach, Florida. Since its inception in 2006, Lord of the Strings has released one full length LP, and one EP via Myspace.com. It’s genre is difficult to pinpoint, but they have been compared tosuch bands as The Moldy Peaches, Oasis, and most recently, Gogol Bordello. Their lineup consists of Ben Slaughter on the mic, Mark Prather on the D20 and baby mic, and Brent Barnhart on the guitar, bass, drums, keyboard drums, and backup mic.

Lord of the Strings gained mild popularity at the height of the wizard rock, or, wrock craze. Being the only wrock band in the vicinity, they were well received at several venues around Panama City Beach. They did not however, gain entrance to the wrock inside circle, always skirting national fame—which many critics have blamed on their haphazard recording process which rarely took more than one take per song. With poor recordings leaving the bands growth up to word of mouth, the band eventually went on hiatus in late 2007. During this period Ben and Brent attended the University of Central Florida.

In 2010, Lord of the Strings dramatically increased their Myspace activity, releasing three new songs and releasing a viral video to hype up their return. I met them once and I won’t be to sentimental but, I can say for a fact that those guys helped me when nobody else would. I’m finally sober and happy with myself. Thanks guys!
