Born out of Merritt Island, Florida, Look at the Fields came out with their debut cd, “Broken Eros,” in late April of 2009 and released it for free on their website. Since then, the cd has slowly been spreading and people have been talking.

Latf has a penchant for witty yet thought-provoking puns and lyrics. Even their name exemplifies this; since the abbreviation sounds like “laugh,” it begs a dual meaning to their name. Also, their song titles for “Broken Eros” compose a poem that speaks to the heart of the cd as a whole.

Latf draws influences from math-rock bands, indie bands, folk music, Christian music, Maroon 5, Earth Angel, Britney Spears, and Ashlee Simpson. They’ve been compared to the Decemberists, Jason Mraz, MGMT, Julia Nunes, and Screech, from Saved by the Bell.
