There are two bands with this name:

(1) Heavy rock band Lone Star was formed in Cardiff, Wales, in 1975 by Paul ‘Tonka’ Chapman. Signed to CBS, the band’s self-titled debut album charted at #47 in 1976. By the second album, Firing On All Six, vocalist Kenny Driscoll had been replaced by John Sloman. That album reached #36 in the UK charts. Lone Star split soon afterwards. Chapman joined UFO, Sloman Uriah Heep, and Dixie Lee Wild Horses. A previously unreleased third album, Riding High, was released in 2000.

Band Members
Rick Worsnop - keyboards, vocals,
Kenny Driscoll - lead vocals (Lone Star)
John Sloman - lead vocals (Firing on All Six)
Dixie Lee - drums, vocals
Tony Smith - guitar
Paul ‘Tonka’ Chapman - guitar

(2) Spanish rock band Lone Star. As you can read in the Spanish version of wikipedia, Lone Star was one of the main band in the “Era Dorada de los Grupos Españoles” (Golden Age of Spanish Bands): Brincos, Bravos, Sirex, Mustangs, Salvajes, Z-66, Tony Ronald Group, Micky y Los Tonys, Los Relámpagos, Los Módulos, etc., in the 60’s and 70’s.

In 1959, Pedro Gené, musician of Conservatory, decide to go away to England. After a year of stay in that country he returns to Spain and is born the first formation: Rafael of the Fertile Valley - bass, Enrique Lopez - drums, Enric Fuster - piano and Pedro Gené - vocals and guitar.

Not as good as the British (Welsh) band from the 1970's with the same name... check out Bells Of Berlin, Spacerships, Ballad of Crafty Jack etc, for real heavy rock 'n' roll! Accept no substitutes!!!! Rock on!

Spanish Lone Star is one of the first and better spanish hard-rock bands! The guitar sounds quite distorted for that age trend.
