To waterwasher I am flattered to be compared to RDJ but I am not worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as him. He is a great influence and my favourite music maker of all time but I am an amateur compared to him.

Mangled Tape Memories is exactly what this album is. Locust Toybox (David Firth of Fat Pie Fame) creates musical montages of rhythm and noise. From the Video-Game-Carnival that is 'Carpetduds' to the haunting dissonance of 'Serial Killer Soundtrack' this album is sure to please. If you think the melodies found in most 'Aphex Twin' songs are too out there, but you love the beats, then this is a great album for you. (But I'm sure David Firth wouldn't want to be compared to Richard D. James) Hidden beyond the fact that most of this is electronic dance music, there's a hidden layer of wonder in the music. There's many times while listening to this that I ask myself 'What did he use for that noise?'. My only Complaint about this album is that the songs tend to be stretched out. But I do enjoy this album a lot. 4 out of 5 -JMW
