“Monotoneous rhythms, melodic bass, some vocals and ‘hazy’ guitar,” thus speak Lobsand Dorje when asked to characterize the soundscapes they produce. They are one of the few bands on this compilations, who started out computer-free with just two guitars, an effect processor and a beatbox at hand. Lobsand Dorje’s debut was unique: the seven-inch vinyl single (extremely rare format round here at that time) attached to a stylishly designed brown cardboard sleeve with a nice wing nut. Art!

Although the computers soon arrived, the band has never thought of abandoning the ‘real’ instruments. “Lobsand Dorje is not a band that can afford a playback concert,” says their bio. Depending on the concept, there are vocals, guitars, basses, synthesizers, congas, flutes and other assorted instruments seen on stage. This also means the expansion of the line-up.

Kas keegi teab, kust/kuidas oleks võimalik Lobsand Dorje muusikat hankida? Eelistaksin legaalselt.
