Biography

San Francisco thrash funk band formed in 1984.
The Limbomaniacs had something of a revolving door ethic when it came to band members, with players constantly coming and going. By 1990, the rising success of Punk-Funksters Red Hot Chili Peppers ensured this San Francisco underground outfit would gain a modicum of notoriety.
When hot-item-of-the-moment Bill Laswell agreed to produce their debut album Stinky Grooves, bringing along with him funk legends Bootsy Collins and Maceo Parker for cameo appearances, the spotlight got even hotter. Unfortunately, the band collapsed under its own weight (as well as heightened expectations in the wake of the Chili Peppers mainstream success) in late 1992, never to reform.
The various members scattered and became involved with such notable Bay Area groups as Primus, Buckethead’s Giant Robot, Big City, M.I.R.V., Devil Dub and others.

Musicians:
Kelly Smith (vocals)
Mark “M.I.R.V.” Haggard (vocals, guitar)
Tony “Butthouse” Chaba (bass, vocals)
Brian “Brain” Mantia (drums)
Pete Scaturro (machines, organ)
Greg Thompson (saxophone)
and others as guests.

Disbanded in 1992
Reunion in 2010!!!!

Man, it's been YEARS since I listened to this. I bought it years ago in a bargain bin, I looked through the liner notes: HOLY SHIT, Brain on drums! A track featuring Bootsy?!?! The porn and shit lyrics are a bit much, but the groove certainly are stinky.
