The talented teen earned a standing ovation from the brummie crowd and all the judges, saying afterwards: “To get that reaction was just amazing. To have Simon stand up for me was amazing”. Cheryl praised his performance telling Liam: “You’ve definitely got it…I thought your voice was very powerful.” At boot camp, his rendition of ‘Stop Crying Your Heart Out” by Oasis failed to impress the judges, meaning he didn’t make into the top eight boys, however, the judges decided to put him into a group called “One Direction” with four other boys, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik.

    i know some directioners are gonna get pissed over this but i really wish that either one direction was never formed or that liam didn't join the rest of them. i mean the band did give him the fame he deserved but i really enjoyed the style he was going for (you can definitely tell he likes jazz & swing from all the michael buble he sings) and i would've enjoyed seeing someone from my generation bringing back the old stuff. plus i prefer his voice to the rest of the band's. no offense! [2] I'm glad someone said this...I TOTALLY agree!
