Letters to Cleo were an band from Boston, Massachusetts (although they originally started out as a band). An internet connection brought me here. That, 90s nostalgia and a bit of a crush on Kay Hanley.

The 90s (and some 00s bleed-over) were full of these alternative pop rock acts - most were completely disposable throw-away acts. Letters to Cleo's Aurora Gory Alice was damned near a perfect album. It didn't win any points of originality, technical virtuosity, or stylistic innovation. But damn if every song isn't perfectly crafted regardless. Angie Aparo's American, Sponge's Wax Ecstatic and several others come to mind. Gorgeous albums.
