Providence, Rhode Island, United States (1995 – present)
Over the course of 5 albums (the last of which is called “Let’s Stay Friends”, and the one before that, Inches, is a collection of 7” singles from ‘95-‘04) they have evolved an increasing use of studio techniques and danceable electronics. Tim Harrington (lead vocalist) is known for his outrageous antics at live shows.
Since 1995, Les Savy Fav has released four full-lengths (3/5, the Cat and the Cobra, Go forth, Let’s Stay Friends) and one EP (Rome: written upside down.) However, INCHES is the one album the band has been writing ever since their inception. The concept of INCHES was actually the second idea Les Savy Fav had. The first was naming the band.
To the stalwart dedicates that have collected the 7’s as they’ve been released, INCHES will offer the chance to hear the songs in the context the band has always conceived of them in. For the majority though, Les Savy Fav expects that INCHES will provide a fresh and educational sonic insight into the band.
