And again this song is absolutely laced with black comedy lines, starting with the start, "I finally broke into my prison", then the glorious "even damnation is poisoned by rainbows", "lately you've started to stutter as though you had nothing to say" and finally the aspirational "you whom I cannot betray". Those who say he's just a miserable git who should shuffle off and slash his wrists and do us all a favour are SO wrong: how could anyone who wrote the line "Complain, complain, that's all you've done/ ever since you lost/ if it's not the Crucifixion/ then it's the Holocaust" not be the darkest comic since Lenny Bruce?

I know it's already been said, but that line ... "even damnation is poisoned with rainbows..." ... as with most of his finest, almost every line stands alone, golden and timeless.

Lyrics

I finally broke into the prison, I found my place in the chain
Even damnation is poisoned with rainbow
All the brave young men they're waiting now to see a signal
Which some killer will be lighting for pay
