Leemonster (Born July, 1987) is a one-man project consisting of many mixed genres that range from hip hop to folk, instrumental to noise, electric, acoustic and others. His music is a response to the lack of originality and political concern that is blared out through the media and has been heavily ignored since the 1960s. The song subjects range from the social satire and fascination of television and radio that people tend to stick to like glue (“Turn off your television”, “Media Frenzy” ,Etc. ), the effects and issues that come about when people stay away from and aren’t concerned from governemtn (“Critical”, “frustrations in the morning”, “Masters of war”, “Fooling millions“), and stories about himself and others, sometimes characters that are created. Just as many of the songs are instrumentals and some contain sound clips and bytes.
He records and releases his music on his own and uses his artwork and photography as imagery.
Leemonster started recording music in a band from early 2005-early 2006 playing guitar and vocals with the band One Month Dead(punk/garage/experimental). Many basement recordings, demos and b-sides were constructed at this time. Most of the songs were improvised and the only thing that was really prepared before recording were the lyrics. The album “The Absolute Last”(which is available for an entire free download) was the final release from the band, although rumors of reforming with a new name had been discussed. The earlier recordings consisted Leemonster on guitar and vocals, Mike Yaple on bass, and Matt Ferrara on drums.
