There are, at least, two artists named Lee Rogers: 1) A singer-songwriter (born 1977), from Carrickfergus (Northern Ireland, UK). 2) A nothern soul / doo wop singer (born Lee Rogers Craton in 1942, deceased 1990), from Detroit, Michigan, USA.
1) A singer-songwriter from Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland. His brand of blues rock has influences including: Tom Waits, Bruce Springsteen, Sting & James Taylor - with the distinctive charm of, fellow countrymen, Van Morrison & Paul Brady. Live sets - solo acoustic or with regular musical conspirators - combine heart stopping vocals, slick acoustic guitar & showcase a penchant for story telling, within his songs. Lee comes across as a slightly spiritual figure, with a Homeric like minstrel’s ability to observe reality & narrate a story - an ambassador for times gone, and times to come; creating a very real and very honest performance that connects with audiences of all ages.
Lee’s debut album, Drawing Clocks, showcases his talent for painting pictures with music. Recorded in Italy during the summer of 2005, the album is born from Lee’s naturally restless character. Diversely travelled, he draws on his own experiences and the world around him to deliver stories that appeal, not only to the ear, but also to the heart, with killer turns of phrase, and a deliverance that will keep a song in your head for days.
