Your Time Is Gonna Come (4:35)

Cover of Led Zeppelin

From Led Zeppelin and 11 other releases

Page played a Fender 10-string steel guitar on “Your Time is Gonna Come.” He told Guitar Player magazine: “I had never played steel before, but I just picked it up. It sounds like a slide or something. It’s more out of tune on the first album because I hadn’t got a kit to put it together.” (Source Your Time is Gonna Come Songfacts).

Now children bow your heads with me as we pray in the house of the holy to the blond guy with the ridiculously tight bell bottoms.

wonder how it would sound on harpsichord, organ and violoncello instead - it starts like preclassic J.S. Bach and navigates to gospel pretty smooth...

Fast-paced or mellow, Led Zeppelin never fails to stagger with their attitude & virtuosity. This song showcases so well each of the guys, in a deceptively simple way. One of my favourites of the album.

I love the awkward steel guitar, it totally ties this song together. It's so simple too, but it works. It blows my freakin mind. LZ is unlike any band on Earth, uncontestedly. They turned weirdness into beauty before anyone else, and their material is still more soulful then any other band out there. I just cannot understand how anyone can disagree. Obviously music is subjective, I'll always stand by that, but Led Zeppelin almost makes me change my mind....they're that good.
