Paying more attention to the background: yeah, it bothers me. Other than that, I have no problem with people using PS to achieve their "ideal forms". Unless it was a beauty contest or something like that, where their looks would mean something more than a way to make my profile look cooler. I'm a kpop fan, PS and make-up are like water and air for those girls, and my eyes thank them for that. P.S.: I'd hit the picture's Liv, no sure about the real one though.

I'm not professional, honey, I don't get PAYD for my job. It's not even a job, I learned all I can do by myself and only have average tools. If one does this as a job, he/she's supposed to have had classes and own a professional equipement, therefore a much better work MUST be expected, would you agree with me? I know I have limits and faults, but I don't do band photos as a payd job. :) As for my Demons, excuse me, they DO have wings (and you took the first you came across without the context it is in, you cunning guy ;) ♥). I know the Demon figure is quite exploited too, but I'm doing only one series of works with this theme, not THREE ALBUMS with the. same. folkish. thingie. It's SIX years that Laves' Eyes keep doing this, I would expect some wider steps forward from the Vinland Saga imagery (well, some steps AT ALL). As for your retouch, thank you very much, the most you can have to fix on a 110x117 pic, texture-wise, is the jpg compression. :)

http://s1.bild.me/bilder/110211/882155612371543a.jpg - left part of the picture is 1 minute photoshop , no blur at all, skin is very smooth, she has problems with furrows(which i retouched), not skin smoothness. I downloaded big picture and I agree with you with the hair blending, and ridicoulous clone stamping on the guy right to Liv (BIG FAIL). Grave on the left is closer to the band, but it's blurred harder the one on the right (FAIL). It could be done so much better, but still effect is pleasant. I also darkened picture to see what's going on and the furrows and blemishes are retouched. Some skin texture is recovered so it wasnt overblurred. If you are so critic on this picture, retouch, almost everything why you making even worse skin retouching and even more CLICHE - demons with wings. With this knowledge you should make much better photos. http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2011/063/c/7/absinthion_by_gothicnarcissus-d2uqrrh.jpg Face retouch is soooo nasty.

As for the background: beside being badly done, with sucky hair blending (most notably Krull and Bauer, but also the ridiculous clone stamping on the guy right to Liv), dumb blurring, very approximate light matching, the half-cropped tombstones on the foreground which would make it a fail if it were an actual photo (and which are badly blurred too, the field of depth is totally screwed), the very unnatural floating leaves (that's not what a real motion blur look like) and so on, it's CLICHEEEEE'. It's 2011, cemetery promo pics have been around for at VERY least two decades now. Yes, it fits well, but only because that's Cosplay Metal. @ nDorae: I'd say those are actual clouds turned cyan.

Hogaty, please don't play dumb. Even a non-professional reflex with a very average lens like my Canon EOS 1000D DOES show the skin texture on a brightly illuminated photo, unless it's severely overexposed, which is not this case (and I'd say they used a better equipement for these promos). Anyway, I'm referring to the HQ photos posted by nDorae, not to these resides versions. Take a look at her solo photo: it made me laugh, her face is *flat*, they forgot to put some shade back on the cheeks to make it look round. That's what I call overdo postproduction. Feel free to believe me or not about the technicalities, but there's some evidence that her skin was not that smooth in 2008 at least. So, either they used a massive amount of Adobe Magic, or she's some relative of Benjamin Button's, you choose.

I wonder if the sky is actually a photo of waves from underwater?

Her face is brightly illuminated so skin texture isn't visible, especially on picture that small. Yeah, they photoshopped it (nasolabial furrows, blemishes etc) but with PLEASANT effect. In the end this is why people retouch pictures. And what's bad with the background? I think it fits very well.

Though you gotta admit that even if that's the case, that's a darn beautiful wax statue.

Then Hogaty, would you please explain me where, let alone the wrinkles, her SKIN TEXTURE has disappeared? It went for a cruise on some viking ship or what? Either that, or that's a wax statue.

Sorry Dorian but your avatar is badly overdone in PS, not Liv's face.

Oh God. The postproduction is most definitely (badly) overdone. And I don't mean only the abuse of cloning stamp and guissan blur on Liv's skin, the background addiction just sucks. o__o Gotta say, though, that this one is the "best" out of the three...
