Biography
Leagues Apart are a punk rock band from Greater Manchester, Their style is reminiscent of 00’s American pop-punk bands like the Lawrence Arms and Hot Water Music however with a very British and personal twist. Songs frequently reference themes of depression, nightlife and touring.
Leagues Apart was formed in a tower block in Salford in 2009 after former Frontline guitarist Adam Bilboa met Stand Out Riot singer Francis Hunt and Kickback bassist Andi Wilson. Guitarist James Hull would join the band in November of that year after relocating to Manchester. A week after fully forming the band went into the studio to record what would become their first E.P. titled ‘To Anywhere’ which was released via TNS records in late 2009. Following this Leagues Apart toured extensively across Europe and the UK in support of the EP racking up hundreds of shows and thousands of miles.
In 2010 Leagues Apart put forward a new song for a split 7” in support of Sea Shepherd. They also released their 2nd EP ‘The Buffalo Club’ as a download only via their Bandcamp and continued to be regular performers on the UK and European touring circuits.
In October 2011 they toured the United States for the first time culminating in a legendary performance at the Fest in Gainesville.
