Biography
***This League page is for League (2002-2005) from Buffalo, NY., not the one from Los Angeles.***
League came together in 2002 in Fredonia, New York. Motivated by the incessant and inevitable passage of time, they immediately committed themselves to the work of an independent band and have not looked back since. For the first year of their existence, they performed at every possible opportunity, determined to spread their music across upstate New York and western Pennsylvania.
That persistence paid off, as their infectiously energetic live shows soon earned them a loyal regional following. By the spring of 2003, League felt ready to expand their geographical reach. Thus, during March and April of that year, the band devoted themselves to the daunting task of planning their first extended tour. The summer was spent turning those plans into reality, as League played more than forty shows across the eastern half of the United States.
While that summer had many lessons in store for them, when it was over, they knew their primary aim had been met. In every city and town they visited, people had experienced League’s music and been won over. By the time they returned to western NY in August, the number of cities and states in which League could count friends and fans had grown several-fold; the tour was a success. With their hearts and heads in agreement over where their future should lie, League spent the rest of 2003 recording the songs they had written and refined over the past year and a half.
