LeFtO

DJ/Producer LEFTO started in 1996. His father had to borrow money from the bank to buy two turntables to his son. And here he is. He learned his first scratches and mix techniques with AKRO of Starflam. LEFTO finished an album of remixes called “Out Of The Blue” for the prestigious jazz label BLUE NOTE in 2005 and dropped an ep of instrumental beats in the same period, a well-demanded record in Japan. The record has been re-released as a box-version for Blue Note Records in 2007. Today he is a demanded dj in Amsterdam, Paris, Prague and all around Belgium. He’s also 1/2 of the radioshow THE HOP on Studio Brussel. You can hear his mixin’ skills every thursday night on Studio Brussel from 22h to Midnight or on www.stubru.be . LEFTO is involved in B9000Records, an independent hiphop label selling worldwide from Gent to Japan and is booker for the Dour festival, one of biggest alternative festival in the country. Contributing to the hiphop/nu-soul programmation events with Democrazy (they are organising all types of music in Gent, www.Democrazy.be ) and resident for the infamous “black music” parties called “Wonderful” in Brussels, LEFTO is a busy bee.
